How I CURED My Baby’s Eczema With These Natural Remedies
Eczema is an inflammatory skin condition and is a symptom of some sort of immune system disorder or allergies. Conventional medicine does not work on eczema, it only covers up the result and does not treat the root cause. So it is very likely that a round of steroid treatment can fail and your eczema can re-occur every few weeks. Overuse of steroid eventually thins out your baby’s skin and makes it more vulnerable and prone to frequent eczema and other allergies. Steroids work by shutting down your immune system so eventually you end up with a weak immune system.
I have never had eczema but I have seen my Son suffer from eczema when he was just 6 months old. It all started after we moved to a new house when he was 6 months old. Prior to that his skin was absolutely healthy (baby acne once or twice which I treated with Breastmilk) and the only concern he ever had was a mild colic which was treated with Homeopathy. I have no idea what triggered my son’s eczema but I am assuming it could be some indoor allergen. And the worst part was every time I ate gluten (I was gluten free my entire Pregnancy except for a few occasions and even after his birth I would rarely eat gluten) his eczema got worse up to the point where it started to bleed behind the ears and knees 🙁
We always used Chemical free bath products, used Soapnut as a Laundry Detergent so it could not be contact dermatitis caused by these things.
I realized that if I were to cure his Eczema the first thing I should stop was Gluten. I completely stopped eating Gluten and his eczema really improved but the Miracle happened when I used Homeopathy. Yes, I can’t believe how quickly his Eczema was cleared after giving him a few doses of Homeopathic Medicines.
If you are a mother of a child who has Eczema (even chronic) then you might want to try these steps. These Natural eczema Remedies work on Adult Eczema too.
Yes, most Eczema types are caused by food intolerance. If you are breastfeeding cut out Gluten, Dairy and any food that you suspect is triggering or worsening it. Cut out one item at a time and see if there’s any difference. After 2 weeks add that item back into your diet and see if it triggers his Eczema again. You really have to experiment with this method but it can be an amazing healing experience for you both.
Healthy Gut= Healthy Skin, when your gut flora is not balanced it shows up on your skin in the form of a rash, hives, acne, eczema etc. Getting enough Probiotics is equally important. If he has started solid foods then feed him fermented foods and if he is breastfed you can eat probiotic rich foods and supplements. This is the Brand that I trust.
He should also get enough Vitamin D, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin E, Zinc and Magnesium because these are the key vitamins and minerals that are crucial for skin health. Make sure you are getting all these vitamins and minerals from food or whole food based supplement if he is exclusively breastfed.
Your baby’s body need more moisturization than ever if he suffers from Eczema. Use Calendula Oil (dried Calendula infused in coconut oil) or this Brand 3 times a day. Seabuckthorn Seed Oil is another oil that is so amazing for Eczema. If you are treating eczema on older children then Neem Oil is Excellent too! Both these oils are highly concentrated and you would need to mix it with some light carrier oil, Neem oil is too pungent so do not exceed more than 10%.
Please do not use Neem Oil on Babies.
Breastmilk is another wonderful miracle! You can squirt some breastmilk directly on the affected areas.
While moisturization definitely helped with the flare ups, the actual healing happened when I removed gluten from my diet and used homeopathic remedies. I always recommend Hylands Bioplasma(you can buy it here) to everyone why because its miraculous! Yes, this is one natural supplement that is safe for everyone in the family(even newborns). While newborns don’t need any supplement you can use it only if she has colic, reflux, eczema or other health issues or if she is not breastfed otherwise Mamas can take it and pass it via breastmilk.
Along with Hylands Bioplasma I used these 2 remedies for his Eczema :
Calc Carb and Graphites.
If I had known that his Homeopathic Constitution was Sulphur it could have healed his eczema even quicker. Why? Because Homeopathic Constitutional Remedies treat the whole person and not that one specific illness/diseases. As he grew up I realized how well he fit into Sulphur Constitution.
Calc Carb(you can buy it here) helps with Eczema that causes itching blisters between the fingers and in the bends of elbows. Calc Carb babies love eggs, ice-cream and milk (he was exclusively breastfed so I had no idea what he really liked but I gave him the remedy anyway). They tend to sweat a lot especially on the back of the neck.
Graphites(you can buy it here) is excellent for weepy eczema with yellow discharge and occurs especially behind the ears (there was no discharge but his eczema was really bad behind the ears so I gave him Graphite). Eczema that gets worse in the night suits Graphites. Cracks on the skin is another indication for Graphites.
Rhus Tox and Sulphur(buy it here) are equally helpful if your baby tends to scratch himself to the point where his eczema bleeds.
Dosage: Give 30c Potency few doses and see if there are any positive changes. If there is absolutely no change move to the next remedy that closely fits his symptoms. You can try all the 4 one by one, most of the time one of these remedies works!
Never use Hot Water to bathe your Baby if he has eczema. His eczema always looked bad after his bath though I used lukewarm water.
Eczema Relief Herbal Bath Recipe:
1 Cup Powdered Oatmeal
1/2 Cup Lavender Flowers
1/2 Cup Chamomile Flowers
3 Tbsp. Epsom Salt
Chickweed is another herb that is amazing for Eczema you can even find chickweed cream online. Add it to the bath, make a chickweed infused oil or salve.
You can boil Lavender and Chamomile flowers in a pot, let it cool and add to his bath water. Add Epsom Salt and oatmeal. And mix everything well. Let your baby sit in the tub for 10 minutes. Massage him with Coconut oil or coconut Calendula oil immediately after patting him dry. Do this every other day (too much water is not good for his skin so every other day is fine) and rest of the days moisturize him 2-3 times a day.
This bath will soothe his irritated skin, reduce redness and itchiness.
Don’t use any bath and body products, nothing. His skin doesn’t need anything else.
Remember that treating the skin is just to relieve the symptoms. You must work on building your immunity by eating healthy, avoiding any allergens and keeping your gut healthy by taking Probiotics to actually cure eczema permanently.
Sending love and healing energy to all the babies who need it <3
