Flu season is here so Colds and Cough are not something unheard of during this time. Prepare your family to fight against these ailments. I recently made a batch of my Herbal Cough syrup when I heard my little one cough. I believe in giving home remedies as soon as I notice any symptom, this way I am able to nip an illness in the bud before it progresses to full blown illness. We never use OTC Medications for anything. Mother nature has given us everything that is required for our health and well being so why go unnatural route? All these ingredients might already be there in your kitchen. So let’s get started 🙂
For this recipe you will need:
1/2 Cup Raw Honey (Manuka Honey works really well)
1/2 Cup Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar
Juice of 1 Onion (freshly grated and squeezed)
1 Tbsp. Ginger Juice (freshly grated and squeezed)
1 Tbsp. Freshly squeezed Lemon Juice
1 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper
A pinch of Cinnamon
Mix everything together and store in a Glass Jar in a refrigerator. Before every use keep the mixture outside for sometime or mix the required quantity with some warm water and take it, it works better this way.
Give a tsp. to Babies and Children (do not give honey to babies under 1 year) 2-3 times a day. Adults can take 1 tbsp. 2-3 times a day. You can skip Cayenne if its too for hot your little one.
This Herbal Cough Syrup is very effective in treating coughs, sore throats and reducing the symptoms of Flu and can be taken by anyone. Skip Cinnamon if you are Pregnant.
