Stress is something most of us have to deal with on a daily basis. This is undeniable! But… the important part is how do we reduce it? One of the keys to youth and beauty is learning ways to relax and release stress. How do you do it?  One of the best ways is by taking a warm bath and adding bubbles to it but be careful! Many commercial bubble baths are filled with toxic and chemical ingredients which do much more harm than good. The solution is an essential oil bath.

Essential oils have many healing and antibacterial properties. Oils are especially beneficial in the bath because they penetrate the skin and allow the body to do its healing magic. Here are a few tips combined with oils to use, to make your experience a beneficial and pleasant one:

In order to get the full benefit of your essential oil of choice, make sure you inhale the oil deeply. Why? As soon as the scent is inhaled, it can immediately benefit the circulatory system, memory, and the endocrine system, which controls mood.

Need to relax or calm down? Put a few drops of Lavender oil in your bath.

Want to feel relaxed, cooled, and renewed? Inhale some Peppermint oil

Feeling tired and sore? Add some Ginger Oil to your daily routine.

Battling anxiety and depression? Take a sniff of clary sage to uplift your mood.

A great idea is to explore and see if other oils are the right fit for your particular needs. One note of warning: be careful when choosing oils as some may be synthetic and do not provide as much of the healing benefits as pure plant derived oils. One of my favorite brands of essential oil is Aura Cacia (100% pure essential oil.)

So… the next time your work day kicks you in the pants, put a few drops of Lavender oil in your bath… sink into the tub, and let the stress melt away.
