As you may or may not know, we live in Texas. Summers in Texas are hot and windy which means lots of heat rashes and chafing. It’s difficult to find products that are soothing, healing, and effective without harsh chemicals. I have made several homemade products using essential oils that are good, but haven’t always cut the mustard, so to speak.
I was asked to try Ora’s Amazing Herbal products and see what I thought. One word…WOW! Mr. Persnickety was very impressed with the All Purpose salve. He works in the heat day in and day out and gets horrible heat rashes. Like I said we have tried many different things, but most left him feeling burned or greasy.
The basic ingredients for the salve:
Grapeseed Oil (non-GMO) Infused With Organic Calendula, Organic Comfrey, Organic Plantain, Organic Chickweed, Organic St. John’s Wort, Organic Burdock And Organic Thyme, Organic Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Vitamin E And Essential Oils Of Rosemary, Thuja, And Tea Tree.
Grapeseed oil infused with the calendula, comfrey, plantain, chickweed, St. John’s Wort, Burdock and Thyme are what make this salve truly unique and so valuable. All of the herbs in this infusion have documented healing and soothing abilities when used on the skin. You can read a great article on the subject by clicking here. The company also uses this infusion with their lip balms, which I also tried, and they were amazing as well. Comfrey, Plantain and Calendula are great for eczema and poison ivy rashes.
One thing I liked about both the salve and the lip balm was the fact that while they didn’t absorb quickly into my skin, they also didn’t leave me feeling greasy or waxy like many other products of this nature do. They are both very soothing to chapped hands and lips and I even used the salve on a diaper rash with great success!
While I got scented products to try, Ora’s also has fragrance free products for the extremely sensitive. However, I have to honestly say that my scented products were not overpowering at all. I got the Earl Grey lip balm and there was just a hint of fragrance in it, as with the All Purpose Salve. I also tried the body powder in Blissful Earth scent and found it amazing. It was very comforting and soothing (scented with lavender, clary sage, and vetiver) and was great on hot days about keeping me comfortable and helping with sweaty odors. In Texas heat that’s pretty important to me!
Overall I found these products well made, nicely packaged, and well thought out as far as the ingredients that are used. The products are among the best I’ve tried and I will definitely be purchasing more in the future!
