Is Hypothyroidism Wreaking Havoc In Your Body?

Hypothyroidism-Revolution-e-book

Have you tried everything under the sun to get rid of your skin care or hair problems?  Right from avoiding cosmetics, SLS and other chemicals to starving and still breaking out, dealing with scary hairfall, not able to shed those stubborn extra pounds etc.?

I started to feel extremely tired around 6 months back, was oversleeping, not being able to shed those extra pounds, dealing with severe PMS, anger and irritation all the time . I knew my hormones were wreaking havoc in my body so I got myself checked (Master Health Check Up) and the report was all normal, including the TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) Level. I also knew that thyroid Test reports are not always accurate , in fact, in most of the Hypothyroidism cases also known as Hypothyroidism II test reports are absolutely normal. But looking at my symptoms I was pretty sure that it had to do something with my thyroid hormones. Luckily my skin and hair have been behaving well so no complaints there.

Hypothyroidism could be one of the causes of frequent cystic acne, dry, itchy skin,  severe hairfall, extreme fatigue, inability to lose weight, mood swings and even panic attacks and anxiety related disorders. Thyroids are small glands that are located below our adam’s apple which produces hormones that affect our body’s metabolism. When our body lacks sufficient thyroid  hormones it results in Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and when our body produces excess thyroid hormones it results in Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid).Between these 2 Hypothyroidism is the most common so here are the list of symptoms of Hypothyroidism.

Symptoms of Hypothyroidism

Extreme Fatigue

Either Oversleeping or Insomnia

Cold intolerance

Cystic Acne/ Dry, itchy Skin

Severe Hairfall

Increased menstrual flow

Weight Gain (despite regular exercises and strict diet programs)

Difficulty concentrating or remembering

Severe PMS

Alternative Therapies For Hypothyroidism

Diet Changes and Supplements can help hormonal imbalances. I recently quit Sugar, Refined Foods and Caffeine,(I just take 2 cups of herbal tea with very low amount of caffeine) added more Vitamin C, Magnesium and Essential Fatty Acids to my supplement routine and most importantly I switched to Virgin Coconut Oil. Virgin Coconut Oil helps balance hormones and it has already been proved. I use VCO in all my cooking, baking, frying and I also take 3 tbsp. a day as a supplement. I went through a healing crisis and trust me it was not easy, I felt worse but I knew my body was healing so continued with it and now I am feeling much better, will update again after a month or so.

So if you have noticed more than 3-4 symptoms (listed above), pay more attention to your thyroid health, make lifestyle and dietary changes and see if it helps.

I also read an e-book on hypothyroidism, its not an elaborative e-book, its short and to the point which tells you about natural treatments for Hypothyroidism. Its called Hashimoto’s and Hypothyroidism Remedy report

Beauty is more than skindeep so take charge of your health now and feel beautiful inside and  out.

Yes, I agree…making changes to the diet can have great impacts. I’m feeling a lot better since my last detox and cutting down refined sugar and carbo made a lot of difference. Glad you’re feeling better.

    Hi Beth,
Its natural to feel awful during your detox, it shows that your body really needed to get rid of those toxins, hope you are feeling better now:)

I am also suffering from Hypothyroidism and am on medication. After this my immunity system has improved a lot and am less susecptible to cold, flu commom cold etc. My hair has not at all stopped falling but has decreased to a maximum. My menstrual cycle used to be like the one’s with uterus cancer but now its not painful and light. I used to get fever on the first day of my menstruation cycle but I can now jump, play and do all those things done on normal days. My lethargy and fatigue was so maximum I could not even put the meal from the plate to my mouth and wanted to always take a nap but today I have routines like a normal girl does and if I am not wrong I link the cause of my uterine fibroids(i removed them surgically) to hypothyroidism too. Please do not ignore these symptoms sisters!!!!!!!!
