Golden Milk is one of my favorite immunity boosting recipes! It is so easy to make and has tons of health benefits! Since this milk has the goodness of the king of anti-inflammatory herbs, Turmeric, it can be used for many ailments and conditions, like Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Migraine headache etc. Turmeric has also been shown as an effective remedy against anxiety and depression and is proved to have anti-cancer properties. You can drink it everyday to boost your immunity , and you would notice you will be the last person to catch any viral infections, including flu!
2 Cups Coconut Milk or Nut Milk (use rice milk or other milk alternatives if you are allergic to nuts. People with nut allergy can still use Coconut Milk, because Coconut is a fruit and not a botanical nut.)
1 Tsp. Ground Turmeric (You can buy this kind)
A Pinch of Black Pepper
½ Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
Raw Honey (buy here)
1 Tbsp. Virgin Coconut Oil(this is a good brand) (optional)
You can always add other immune boosting herbs and spices, like dried and ground Ginger, Cloves, Cardamom, Saffron, Basil etc.
Heat the milk on a low flame for a few minutes. Do not boil it. Or if you like it cold you can have it raw too (I love it raw :))
Add Turmeric, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Honey, Coconut Oil and any other spices or herbs. Mix well and serve.
You can add a pinch of nutmeg to this tea if you have insomnia. You will get an amazing sleep!
Safe for Children 12 months and older. Just reduce the amount by half.
Skip Cinnamon and reduce the amount of Turmeric by half if you are pregnant.
