Winter is approaching soon, which means lesser Sun exposure! Lesser Sun exposure means your body will not be able to produce enough Vitamin D required for strong immune response. The so called “flu season” is caused by low Sunlight exposure, increased sugar consumption and stress (thanks to holidays) and flu mists that shed.
You can always keep your immune system strong with the help of nutrition and herbs. Mother nature has given us so many natural options to boost our immune system naturally. Here is one recipe from my ebook “Citrine’s Holistic Flu Remedies”. This ebook is available on Kindle .
There are some amazing herbs in Ayurveda that can dramatically increase your immunity! Ashwagandha is one of the most sought after Ayurvedic herbs, full of immune boosting properties. It’s an adaptogen, so it greatly improves your body’s ability to adapt to stress.
Indian Gooseberry is a Vitamin C rich herb that significantly increases your immunity. Moringa is another powerful herb that is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron and Protein; it’s a superfood on its own! Refer to the recommended resources page to see where you can buy these ingredients online.
3 oz. Organic Grass Fed Ghee
1 Tbsp. Organic Ashwagandha Powder (I love this brand)
1 Tbsp. Organic Indian Gooseberry (Amla) Powder
1 Tbsp. Organic Moringa Leaf Powder
Gently heat the ghee in a double boiler.
Once it melts, add the herbs and mix well.
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Ghee and dried herbs have a shelf life longer than a year, so no need to worry about its shelf life.
You can give 1 Tsp. everyday to children 1 year and older during winter.
If they don’t like the taste, you can mix it with some honey or mix it in their soup.
Nursing mamas can take this, too.
Not recommended for pregnant mamas.
