Benefits of Cucumber For Skin

6 Wonderful Benefits of Cucumber For Skin

Cucumber has been known for years as being a healthy snack and a part of a healthy diet, but there are also a number of skin benefits of cucumber that we can and should start taking advantage of. Listed below are few notable skin benefits of cucumber.

1. Cucumber can Reduce the Appearance of Dark Circles

Cucumbers have the ability to quickly, safely and easily help reduce the appearance of dark circles. The abundance of antioxidants and silica within cucumber can rejuvenate the skin and leave it feeling soft and smooth after just 5 or 10 minutes of use.

2. Treat Puffy Eyes with Cucumber

If you are worried about under eye puffiness then cucumbers can also provide almost instant benefits. Due to the large amount of ascorbic acid in cucumbers, when they are placed under the eyes they can decrease water retention and thus reduce puffiness overall.

3. Help Reduce Freckles with Cucumber

A sun kissed face is also something we strive for, but freckles are often a side effect that is less than desirable. When grated cucumber is used as a tonic and spread all over the face and neck it can reduce the overall appearance of freckles over time.

4. Improve Your Complexion with Cucumber

Possibly the most common use for cucumbers is to improve complexion and simply rejuvenate the skin. When cucumber is used within a facial mask it has an undeniable ability to leave your skin glowing and allow your skin to be much more soft and subtle.

5. Treat a Sunburn with Cucumber

If you have found that you stayed out in the sun a little too long and are dealing with sunburn, then cucumbers can also provide benefits in this regard. The cooling effect of cucumbers is a natural and gentle way to soothe your skin and speed up the healing process.

6.Tighten Open Pores  with Cucumber

Cucumber makes an excellent toner, you can either mix it with Apple Cider Vinegar, A Few drops of Lemon, Egg White, Honey, Aloe Vera, Tomato or use it alone it immediately tightens open pores. Just grate some cucumber, and apply the juice on your face and neck, rinse off after ten minutes.

Cucumbers-oh cucumbers. I hear so many people have wonderful results when using them on their skin, but not me! I have to keep away from them. Years ago, I had a special date to go to, so thought I’d give myself an extra special spa treatment, which included cucumber slices on my eyelids. After about 1 minute of them on my lids I had to rip them off – stinging and burning was too much! I ended up with big red welts that lasted several days. Never again!
